It’s Lockdown 2020. It’s chaos – people are losing their jobs, millions are hungry and cold, governments are corrupt, and everyone seems hopeless. What does Dylan Oosthuyse do? He starts his sustainable fashion brand, TwoCan, from the firm belief that anyone can make a difference.
The vision
TwoCan’s clothing was born from the idea to combine two completely different actions:
2. Buying clothing: a fairly simple task most people do almost once a month. An enjoyable experience.
TwoCan combines these actions by:
2. Making all their garments from recycled plastic.
3. Manufacturing their clothing locally.
The charities
The colour of the TwoCan logo on the shirt you buy determines the charity to which TwoCan donates. TwoCan have selected eight charities to donate to. When making the selection they took care to choose charities that are well managed and effective. TwoCan also ensured they chose a diverse group of charities so that their impact could have a broad reach. On the basis of colour theory, the charities were then matched with a colour.
Red logo: Endangered Wildlife Trust
Green logo: Environmental Clean-up
Purple logo: People Opposing Woman Abuse
Black logo: Giving Hope to the Homeless
The journey
It has been a slow but steady process to get TwoCan where they are today. Along the way founder, Dylan Oosthuyse sold his car to keep the business going. But, driven by their passion to empower consumers to make a change through the products they buy, TwoCan plans to grow global.
We are very excited to have TwoCan as a Vincii Pilot Retailer – you’ll soon be able to start supporting them on Vincii. In the meantime check them out here.
